The Garmin Nuvi 200W 4.3 inch widescreen display comes pre-loaded with maps that cover the UK and Ireland and also some European maps, which is an improvement over its predecessor the Nuvi 200.  In common with all the Nuvi series, the maps are very clear and easy to read.

Initially the display may appear to you as a little garish because of their bright colours and thick lines.  But once you get past that, you realise they've done a brilliant job.

The tilted perspective, which seems to distort the part of the road you're driving on also compresses the roads in the distance.  This means it's extremely easy to see the approaching road layout and what's coming up.

What makes the Nuvi 200W so good is that most of the screen is used to display the map and only a small section at the top has been used to display the current road and road ahead, with just two unobtrusive windows at the bottom.  The left window displays your estimated time of arrival and the right window shows the distance to the next turn.

You can set the 4.3 inch sunlight-readable touch screen display to either 3D or 2D, and enable or disable voice directions.  In addition, the Nuvi 200W accepts custom points of interest (POIs) such as school zones and safety cameras and lets you set proximity alerts to warn you of upcoming Points Of Interest.

Because of the convenient size, you can take it with you, and like the rest of the Nuvi 200 series, the Nuvi 200W sports a sleek, slim design and fits comfortably in your pocket or handbag.  Its rechargeable lithium-ion battery makes it convenient for navigation by either car or foot.

As well as GPS satellite navigation, the Nuvi 200W includes many useful tools such as a JPEG picture viewer, a world travel clock with time zones, a currency converter, measurement converter, calculator and more.

It also comes with "Garmin Lock", an anti-theft feature, and configurable vehicle icons that let you select car-shaped graphics to show your location on the map.

Additional optional plug-in SD cards which contain  travel guides provide detailed data for area attractions, so you can customise your Nuvi 200W for your travel needs.
